Together, Christine and I, started a ministry to help couples and families find the joy of life together through Jesus. We have high hopes and dreams on how we want to help, but we also trust God in leading us through His will.
As we move forward with actualizing our ministry, Christine came up with the beautiful thought of, “The splinters of our lives are like kindling for God’s fire”. Which is so true and wise. Many times, in our lives, events feel like splinters or moments that hurt emotionally, physically, or spiritually. But those broken fragments of life are the kindling God uses to bring us closer to Him and members of His Kingdom. During these times God wants us to turn to him in prayer and supplication to foster a deeper relationship with Him and his Son. However, during a splintered time in our life, we feel the most alone and isolated. We often think our situation has never occurred to another living soul and God would never waste His precious time on us. As a couple and a family, we want to show those that are splintered, that hope is possible and God would never turn away from us.
As part of our ministry, we started a magazine called “Trekking with the Spirit: Inspiring Adventures through God’s Creation”. Many times, individuals who feel splintered seek refuge and healing in the wilderness. In today’s modern society, accessing the wilderness may be hiking, camping, mountain biking, kayaking, wind surfing, or any other outdoor activity. These are the places that we search for God and meaning. And these are the places that we find God and Jesus waiting to embrace our lives. Our ambition with Trekking with the Spirit is to share stories where people have discovered God’s love and compassion through adventure and His creation.
